Winnshiek County Accident

A Castalia man has been charged in connection with a one-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County. 18-year old Kolton Christopher Wiedow was charged in connection with the accident that occurred on June 27th at 9:38pm. Wiedow was operating a 2010 Chevrolet Impala, traveling north on West Clark Street in Calmar. The Wiedow vehicle drifted to the left and struck a legally parked pickup and trailer. Wiedow stated he was using his cell phone which caused the accident. No injuries were reported. Wiedow was tested for impaired driving which resulted in a .02-violation. He was also charged with failure to maintain control.
