(Madison, WI) -- Thirteen Wisconsin counties, including Crawford and Grant, are under a special fire order. The state Department of Natural Resources says people looking to burn in the southern and central Wisconsin counties will have to get a permit from the department, unless the ground is completely covered with snow. The DNR says dry conditions and a lack of rain have increased the likelihood of fires. The burn permit requirement will be in place until drought conditions improve.
