McGREGOR, Iowa — After spending the day enjoying the annual Great River Road Car Show & Cruise, keep the fun going with an evening of live music featuring local favorite Momma's Worry at McGregor's Landing.

From 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, McGregor's Landing (the First Street Parking Lot) will be transformed into a casual outdoor music venue where residents and visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, relax, and enjoy a summer evening in downtown McGregor. Admission is free.

Known for drawing enthusiastic crowds throughout the region, Momma's Worry will provide the soundtrack for the evening while guests enjoy the company of friends, neighbors, and fellow visitors. Beverage service will be provided by McGregor’s American Legion as a fundraiser, and attendees are encouraged to support McGregor's downtown restaurants by grabbing dinner or carryout before or during the event.

The evening is more than just a concert. It is the first in a series of community experiences being "test driven" as part of McGregor's Creative Places initiative. By temporarily activating public spaces in new ways, the project allows residents and visitors to experience possibilities firsthand while providing valuable feedback that will help shape future improvements and future programming.

Rather than asking the community to imagine how public spaces could be used differently, these pilot events invite people to experience those possibilities together. Community participation and feedback will help determine what ideas are worth exploring in the future.

Whether you're wrapping up a day at the car show, meeting friends after dinner, or simply looking for a great evening of live music, everyone is invited to pull up a lawn chair, enjoy the performance, and be part of an exciting community experiment.

Support is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, which exists within the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
