On April 19, 2026 at approximately 12:36 am, an Allamakee County Sheriff’s Deputy located a  vehicle parked at Wild Landing near the intersection of Iowa River Drive and Lycurgus Road. A check of the vehicle indicated that it was registered to a male from Rochester, Minnesota who  had been missing since April 16, 2026.   A search of the area and Upper Iowa River was conducted and was unsuccessful. On April 20th, 2026, at approximately 3:39 a.m. Fayette County Deputies were called to the 200 block of W. Main Street in Hawkeye in reference to an abandoned 911 emergency call. The Central School Board approved a two-percent wage increase for Certified, Coaches, Drivers, and Management positions with a six-percent raise for the School Business Official. The Monona City Council approved repair work on Iowa Street from Main to Hill Street. The surface of the street was damaged by a water issue. Repairs will total 144-thousand. On April 20, 2026, at 5:32pm, Oelwein Officers arrested Ryan Austin Bonefas, 26, of Oelwein. Bonefas was placed into custody and charged with Assault While Displaying a Dangerous weapon – Aggravated Misdemeanor,  after a report of a vehicle deliberately driving over the sidewalk and nearly striking another subject. No injuries reported but a number of pigs were lost in a Semi accident in Winneshiek County.  The accident occurred on April 18th at 6:24pm on Highway 139 near 313th Avenue.  19-year old Cooper Wyatt Granzow of Hubbard was operating a 1999 Kenworth Semi with a cargo load of over 100-pigs.
