Delaware County Authorities released information on four separate accidents. An accident occurred on April 14 th at 5:45pm on Highway 20. 28-year old Brandon Keith Gudenkauf of Manchester was operating a 2004 GMC Sierra. The Gudenkauf vehicle was truck by a semi. The Clayton County Conservation Board has hired Ean Popenhagen as the next Executive Director. Popenhagen, who served as Deputy Director this past year, is a graduate from North Fayette/Valley High school. Popenhagen later graduated from Hawkeye Community College and Upper Iowa University with a degree in Conservation Management. Popenhagen has been with Clayton County Conservation since June of 2021. He replaces Jenna Van Metereen who has been the Director since 2015.

The McGregor City Council set May 20 th as the date for the public hearing on a proposal to enter into a Sewer Revenue Loan and Disbursement Agreement. The loan is not to exceed 765-thousand dollars and involves the project on 1 st and A Street in the Triangle Park area. Melanie Prew, Isaac Sweet, and Dianna Berry were appointed to the Pocket City Progress Committee. The Clayton County Planning and Zoning Commission held a public meeting on a proposed data center ordinance. Several residents voiced concerns with the drafted ordinance and a number voiced opposition. A major concern involved the overall energy usage of data centers along with the lack of language to prevent added costs to individual utility rate payers. The Volga City Council held a Public Hearing for the consideration of FY 27 certification of taxes and budget on Monday, April 13, 2026 in the Volga City Hall. Mayor Elaine Follon opened the Public Hearing at 6:55pm. Council members Parker Klingman, Tom Whittle, Crystal Nicholson, and Rhonda Fry answered Roll Call. LANSING, Iowa – April 15, 2026 – The Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation are continuing to construct the Mississippi River Bridge Project at Lansing. The project is moving a previously announced controlled explosive demolition of one of the remaining piers to Friday, April 17. The demolition was delayed one day due to severe weather. On April 14 th , 2026, at approximately 6:53 p.m., the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center took a 911 call from the Mini Mart Gas Station at 609 S. Main Street in Garnavillo.
