Clayton County Conseration Board has new Executive Director
The Clayton County Conservation Board has hired Ean Popenhagen as the next Executive Director. Popenhagen, who served as Deputy Director this past year, is a graduate from North Fayette/Valley High school. Popenhagen later graduated from Hawkeye Community College and Upper Iowa University with a degree in Conservation Management. Popenhagen has been with Clayton County Conservation since June of 2021. He replaces Jenna Van Metereen who has been the Director since 2015.

The McGregor City Council set May 20 th as the date for the public hearing on a proposal to enter into a Sewer Revenue Loan and Disbursement Agreement. The loan is not to exceed 765-thousand dollars and involves the project on 1 st and A Street in the Triangle Park area. The Clayton County Planning and Zoning Commission held a public meeting on a proposed data center ordinance. Several residents voiced concerns with the drafted ordinance and a number voiced opposition. The MFL MarMac School Board approved the District Budget for the upcoming school year. The tax rate will decrease 27-cents to $12.45-per-thousand. LANSING, Iowa – April 15, 2026 – The Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Transportation are continuing to construct the Mississippi River Bridge Project at Lansing.
