Paul N. Talsma, resident of Guttenberg, Iowa, passed peacefully on January 29, 2026. Paul entered this world on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941, surrounded by love with little to no fanfare. He chose to depart this world in the same manner. He had a love of nature, sailing, music and family. Richard F. Newbern, 89, of Guttenberg, Iowa, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Unity Point Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg, Iowa. Memorial service will commence at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mike Ashman officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Guttenberg, Iowa. Richard was born July 29, 1936, in Elkader, Iowa,
