Robert Leon Stearns of Manchester

Robert Leon Stearns, 62, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at MercyOne Hospital in Waterloo. He was born on October 17, 1964, in Clinton, the son of Robert and Sheryl (Anderson) Stearns. Robert was raised and educated in Camanche and was a graduate of Camanche High School.

On July 21, 2007, Robert was united in marriage to Elizabeth Rose Tatro. The couple resided in Manchester. Robert delivered newspapers for the Cedar Rapids Gazette for many years. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Robert liked working on vehicles, especially liked Harley Davidsons.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Rose Tatro-Stearns of Manchester; two children, Michael Breeden and Stephanie Breeden-Young; two stepchildren, Amanda Rose Whiting and Jesse Ray Whiting; his mother, Sheryl Mitchel of Wapello; his father, Robert (Roxann) Stearns of Clinton; half-brother, Gregory Stearns; half-sister, Lynsi Stearns; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents.
