The Valley Preschool and Childcare Center will host their 3rd Annual Pancake and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Friday March 27th at the Elgin Legion Hall from 5-7 PM.  Meal includes pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, and frozen yogurt.  Silent auction items are available for bidding on Facebook before the auction and in-person during the meal.  Freewill donation for dine-in meals and $10 per meal for to-go meals.

The Friends of the Elkader Public Library will sponsor author William Kent Krueger on Sunday, May 3  at noon at the Elkader Opera House. The author of the Cork O'Connor series and several stand-alone novels will speak and sign books, which will be available to purchase, at this event.
