Prairie du Chien City Council approves the budget for the upcoming year
The Prairie du Chien City Council approved a 7.17-million dollar budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget is a 2.1-percent increase from the current budget. The Mill Rate will increase from $17.91 to $18.01. The owner of a 100-thousand dollar home will see an increase of 46-dollars in taxes for the year, up to $1,778. The increase in the budget includes a 150-thousand loss in School Tax Credit. The Council approved a three-percent pay increase for City Employees.

Clayton County Board of Superivisors approve Safety Improvement Project from Clayton Road in Garnavilo to the Great River Road
The Clayton County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement for a Highway Safety Improvement Project from Clayton Road in Garnavillo to the Great River Road. The project involves paved shoulders and rumble strip work in different areas. The total project totals 955-thousand but the county has received over 830-thousand dollars in grant funding to assist with the cost. Monona City Council sets Budget Work Sessions for January
The Monona City Council set January 5th and the 19th as dates for Budget Work Sessions. The budget work will be held as the same nights of the regular council meeting. The Council also set goals for the year 2026. The city is looking to work on the possibility of a Disc Golf Course, housing, and look at purchasing land for future housing projects.
