James Ronald Hoeger, age 75, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at his home in Farmersburg. Jim was born on August 28, 1950, to Vincent and Inez (Brunsman) Hoeger. He graduated from Garnavillo High School and enlisted in the US Army. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving his country. He worked the family farm for several years before helping another farmer. A Greeley woman was charged with Failure to Maintain Control following a one-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on April 20th at 4:49pm. 63-year old Dianna Lynn McDonough was operating a 2018 Kia Rio on Highway 38. McDonough stated she had a medical event. The vehicle crossed the center line and went into the ditch, collided with a mailbox and then a cattle fence coming to rest in a field. McDonough refused medical treatment and damage totaled 27

On April 23rd at approximately 6:30pm, Fayette County Deputies responded to a disturbance in St Lucas. After an investigation, Adam Schmitt, age 35 of St Lucas was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault and Child Endangerment, both D Felonies. On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at approximately 8:41 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a hit and run crash. A female pedestrian was walking her dog along Rhein Hollow Road in the Township of Wauzeka, and she and her dog were struck by a smaller greenish colored pickup truck driven by a younger male.
