Brian K. Meisgeier, 65, of rural Arlington, Iowa, died peacefully on Thursday morning, April 30, 2026, at the Community Memorial Hospital, Sumner, Iowa.

Memorial Service: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington, with Rev. Mark Yackel-Juleen officiating.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Arlington and for one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.

Final Resting Place: Taylorsville Cemetery, Arlington, Iowa.

Brian Ken Meisgeier was born July 27, 1960, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Kenneth Charles & Betty Jo (Wendt) Meisgeier. He was raised and lived his entire life on the family farm in rural Arlington. Brian graduated in 1978 from Starmont High School and continued his education at Iowa State University before returning to the farm. Brian was united in marriage to Rebecca Sue “Becky” Heiserman on August 28, 1993, at Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein, Iowa. They were blessed with two children and grew their family in faith at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington. Brian was a lifelong dairy farmer. Twenty years ago, Brian was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He fought his illness for years and years with great courage, until the day God called him home. Brian enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, tractors, fishing, tinkering, and repairing just about anything. He is remembered for his hardworking attitude, strong love of his family and friends, his intelligence, his love of the farming lifestyle, his livestock, and being outdoors. And for those who knew him best, he sometimes was a little stubborn and set in his ways. Brian is now experiencing heaven like a big hug, where there is no more pain and his body feels light, where his spirit feels free and he has full knowledge of how much he is loved and missed by all who knew him.

Son: Jared (Rachel) Meisgeier of West Union;

Daughter: Kenna Meisgeier of Festina;

4 Siblings: Connie (Doug) Johnson of Cedar Falls,

Deb Bahe of Oelwein;

Robert (Kathy) Meisgeier of Maynard &

Kay (Barry) Christenson of Crystal, Minnesota;

Nieces & Nephews and

Mother-In-Law: Nancy Thomas of Oelwein.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law: Don Bahe and father-in-law: Marvin “Bud” Thomas.
