Bryan Franklin Taylor, 63, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at his home. He was born on February 13, 1963, in San Jose, Illinois, the son of Gerald and Shirley (Coburn) Taylor. Bryan was raised in the area and was a graduate of San Jose High School. He then attended Illinois Central College.
On April 18, 1983, Bryan was united in marriage to Dana Bearden at the Methodist Church in San Jose. Four children were born to this union. Bryan had a passion for music since his early 20’s when he was the drummer for his rock band, Paradise. Bryan had a 43-year career in retail, meeting and working with many great people, culminating in a stint as district manager with Dollar General.
Family meant everything to Bryan. Bryan shared his love of baseball and basketball with his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. Bryan shared that his greatest masterpiece was the family he loved and lived for.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dana Taylor of Manchester; his four children, Mark (Mary) Taylor of Centerville, Tabatha (Dan) Rose of Anamosa, Jenifer (Charles) Hines of Manchester, and Derek (Ashanti-Kae) Taylor of Manchester; six grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Taylor of San Jose, Illinois; a brother, Michael Taylor; and a sister, Kristy Finley of San Jose.
Bryan was preceded in death by his father.
