Clara “Betty” Elizabeth (Werner) Herman, 88, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her home in Earlville. She was born on March 24, 1937 in Earlville, the daughter of John and Clara (Roling) Werner. Betty was raised on a farm southeast of Earlville.
On July 23, 1957, Betty was united in marriage to Vincent “Vince” Herman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville. Four children were born to this union. They were married nearly 65 years and lived and raised their family in Earlville.
Survivors include her children David (Betty) Herman of Littleport, Paul (Carolyn) Herman of Peosta, and Tracy (David) Lewis of Earlville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Ann Jaeger of Toddville and Theresa Wetter of Sherrill; sisters-in-law Carmen Werner of Earlville, Amanda Werner of Belvidere, Illinois, Carol Herman of Manchester, Paulette (John) Mueller of Dubuque; brother-in-law Larry Herman of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vince Herman; and her son Larry Herman; sister Rosemary (Dave) Salow; brothers Leon Werner and Joseph Werner; and brothers-in-law Milt Wetter and John Jaeger.
