Colesburg Library to hold 40th Birthday Bash on Saturday, September 26th

Mark your calendars, Colesburg! The Colesburg Public Library is turning 40, and we’re throwing a BIG Birthday Bash—and everyone is invited!

Join us on Saturday, September 26th, from 2 to 7 p.m.  for an afternoon packed with family fun, food, games, books, music, and plenty of ways to celebrate 40 years of the Colesburg Public Library!

Starting at 2 p.m., kids AND adults can participate in our coloring contest. Coloring continues until 5 p.m., with judging at 5 and prizes announced at 5:30.

Kids can bounce the afternoon away with three bounce houses, including one specifically for children under age 4. There will also be FREE face painting and carnival games with prizes!

Then, at 3 p.m., it’s time for an old-fashioned Dessert Walk! And because we’re celebrating 40 years, we’ll have 40 desserts up for grabs! It’s just $3 for one round or $5 for two rounds, with two desserts available to win during each round.

Feeling lucky? We’ll also have a 50/50 raffle, with drawings at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

And when you register at the event, each person will receive a ticket for a FREE cupcake and scoop of ice cream, while supplies last!

Book lovers, don’t miss our HUGE used book sale, happening throughout the entire five-hour celebration—with a stellar deal on books!

Adults and older kids can also put their knowledge to the test with a Library Scavenger Hunt featuring Colesburg Library and local town history. Complete the hunt and you’ll be entered into a prize drawing.

And while you’re here, be sure to check out our recent library remodel and expansion!  Come see our updated bathrooms, expanded spaces, fresh new carpet, and new paint throughout the library. We’re excited to show our community the improvements we’ve made to create an even more welcoming space for everyone.

Want to take home a piece of the celebration? 40th Anniversary T-shirts will be available for $20 for adults and $18 for kids. Tall and short can koozies will also be available for just $3.

And, of course, you’re going to need something to eat and drink!

Four Scoops & More will be serving street tacos, and Dinger's D'Lites Food Truck from Epworth will be joining us with even more food options.

For a fun and refreshing treat, stop by the Dirty Soda Bar, hosted by the Fusion Danceworks Competition Team. You can try one of our popular dirty sodas with a fun, signature bookish name!

So, grab your family, bring a lawn chair, pack a cooler, and come celebrate with us!
