Dubuque County Fatality--Update

On August 11, 2025 at approximately 6:11 PM the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Dubuque Police Department and Key West Fire and EMS responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 61 southbound just north of the Buncombe Rd. intersection for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Investigation revealed that Jayesth Paul (12/21/1998) of Canada was the operator of a semi that was pulled over to the side of the road checking / securing his load when a southbound suv driven by Kaylynn Knight (7/11/98) of Maquoketa struck the rear of the semi-trailer and Paul whom was outside the semi. Mr. Paul was located deceased on scene and Knight was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated and was released. Hwy 61 southbound between Skyline Road and Buncombe Rd was closed until approximately 9:00 PM.
