Edward J. Becker of Earlville

Edward J. Becker, 57, of Earlville, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Ed was born on May 1, 1969, in New York, the son of Edward Guerin, Jr. and Marion Becker.

On June 18, 2005, he was united in marriage to Carolyn (Boge) Rutherfurd. Ed worked as a forklift operator. He enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, and collecting Ertl tractors. He also enjoyed old cars, especially his ’68 Chevelle.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; his mother Marion Becker; his stepchildren Patrick (Hailey) Rutherfurd of Cedar Rapids, and Morgan (Kate Privitt) Rutherfurd of Aurora, Colorado; mother-in-law Darlene Boge; brother-in-law Tom (Cheryl Kuhn) Boge; nieces Lexie, Tess and Tyra; and many aunts and uncles on the Becker side.

Ed was preceded in death by his father-in-law Merlyn Boge; and brother-in-law Tim Boge.
