Fayette County Authorities Release Information on Two Arrest Incidents and a One-Vehicle Accident

On Sptember 5th, 2026, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of a domestic disturbance in the city of Eldorado. Upon arrival, deputies determined that 52-year-old Travis McIntyre had allegedly assaulted a female victim outside his residence. McIntyre was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail. He has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Strangulation and Interference with Official Acts.  McIntyre is currently being held at the Fayette County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.


On September 2nd, at approximately 4:25 PM, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an accident in the 5000 block of Derby Rd., Wadena, IA. Upon Deputy arrival, it was determined that Joseph Shull, of Cedar Falls, was traveling westbound in his white 2022 Aeromaster box truck when he struck a black bull that was in the roadway. The estimated damage caused was approximately $2,000.00. There were no injuries reported and the bull was deceased at the scene.

 

On September 1st, 2026,  Justin Michael Shomacker (age 35) of Elgin, IA was taken into custody for 2 active arrest warrants for Probation Violation – No bond Hold, and Sex Offender Registry Violation – 2nd or Sub - $5,000.00 cash or surety bond. Justin was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held for court. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office.
