Fayette County Authorities release information on two separate accidents including one that involved anhydrous ammonia tanks

On November 10th, 2025, at approximately 3:58 pm, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle accident near the intersection 150th St. and W Ave. Upon arrival by Deputies, it was learned that Derek Joseph Ihde age 34 of Maynard was traveling north bound on W Ave in a 2021 Ram 3500 pulling anhydrous ammonia tanks when a 17 year old male rear-ended the anhydrous ammonia tanks and went into the ditch. No injuries were reported. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol. The accident remains under investigation.
On November 7, 2025, at approximately 6:51 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of a truck vs deer accident on W Avenue near 78th Street, approximately five miles SW of Westgate. After further investigation, it was determined that Kathy Ann Beane, age 65 of Fairbank, was north bound in a Red 2021 Ford F150 Supercrew when she struck a deer in the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. The Ford sustained approximately $1500 in damages.
