FAYETTE TAKO GROUP HOSTING SPRING ANTLER SHED HUNT/BIRDWATCHING EVENT ON APRIL 25TH AT ECHO VALLEY

Interested in looking for and learning about deer antler sheds, plus learn and enjoy how nature works? On Saturday, April 25th the Fayette Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) is sponsoring a special outdoor event at Echo Valley Park, east of West Union from 10am-2pm. This free and family-oriented youth event will feature fun and educational activities at this popular nature area.

Highlighting the day will be our popular annual antler shed hunt with the kids being able to keep these as souvenirs of the day. At this time of year, many spring wildflowers are in bloom plus a great time to enjoy birdwatching in their spring migration. A special craft session will also be making things from natural objects in the area. A light noon lunch is provided. Please dress for outdoor conditions as this time of year can vary. TAKO signs will be posted also. Remember, parents and guardians need to stay with the kids for safety purposes.

Founded locally in 2006, Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) is a 501c(3) non-profit dedicated to providing and connecting kids and their families to the natural world. In 2009, the group was awarded the Governor’s Volunteer Award. Local chapter president is Leif White and questions can be forwarded to him at 319-939-1567.
