Two-Vehicle Crash with Minor Injuries
On May 15th at approximately 2:32pm, the Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash with minor injuries, on W. Main Street near S. Center Street in the Village of Dickeyville.
When the deputy arrived on scene, he learned Kimberly Henderson, age 43 of Morgantown, IN, was legally parked along W. Main Street in her 2013 Toyota Sienna van. Mary Taylor, age 31, of Bloomington, was northbound on W. Main Street operating her 2018 Ford Escape. Henderson did not see the Ford Escape coming behind her and left the parked position and pulled into the roadway directly into the path of the Ford Escape. The front driver's side corner of the Toyota Sienna struck the front passenger side corner of the Ford Escape.
Airbags deployed in the Ford Escape. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene. Both Henderson and Taylor were wearing seatbelts. Henderson was uninjured and Taylor was transported to a local hospital via private vehicle for further evaluation of apparent minor injuries.
Henderson was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Parked Position. The Dickeyville Fire Department, Dickeyville EMS, and Donnie's Tire and Tow assisted at the scene.
