Guttenberg City Council approves second reading of ordnance to raise Electrical Rates

The Guttenberg City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance to increase Electric Rates. The proposal includes a flat fee increase of $5 a month with a reimbursement available for residents who put in underground lines. The council will hold a third reading on the ordinance.

The Council approved a 100-thousand dollar line of credit for the GEIDC. Funds will be used to finish the third floor and some work on the second floor of the Family Resource Building.

They approved a bid for inspection of the electrical poles and an estimated 30 to 40-thousand dollars.

The council also talked about fines for building without a permit. A reminder that fees double for those that build without a permit.
