Guttenberg City Council Holds First Reading of an Ordinance to Raise Electrical Rates

The Guttenberg City Council held the first reading of an ordinance to increase electrical rates. The proposal includes raising the base meter charge by $5 a month. It also includes a $3-per foot reimbursement for those who put in underground lines to replace the power lines. A second and third reading of the ordinance will be held.

City Officials are also reminding residents to use caution on the Crosswalk at Schiller Street. They have received reports of someone who did not stop when the lights were activated and a pedestrian was nearly struck.
