Inez married Lawrence Werner on June 19, 1957, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. They farmed together west of Greeley and then south of Strawberry Point before moving to the farm southwest of Manchester in 1971. Inez worked for many years in the Dietary Department at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester before retiring. Lawrence and Inez moved to Manchester in 2013.
Inez was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and had served on the Board of Education and the Altar and Rosary Society. She sang for many years in the church choir. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary’s School. Inez had served as Regent of the Catholic Daughters and was a longtime member of the South St. Gerard Study Club.
In the community, Inez served for many years as a 4-H leader and as a volunteer with the Delaware County Fair. She also served on the Porkette Board. Lawrence and Inez had received the Meritorious Service Award to 4-H in Delaware County.
Inez enjoyed playing bridge and other card games and played in a number of card clubs in the Manchester area. She was an excellent cook and baker and had been awarded many purple ribbons at the Delaware County Fair for her entries. She sang beautifully. Her family especially appreciated her love of music and she passed along that love to her children and grandchildren.
