July 3rd Scores--Clayton Ridge/Central and Starmont advance in the Baseball Tourney!

Owen Hammersland of Clayton Ridge/Central tossed a one-hitter and the WarEagles shut out Kee High 3-0 in a Class 1-A District Opener. Carson Ruegnitz had a single and drove in two. Griffen Hammersland had two hits, including a double and scored a run. Dominique Mast had two hits and Seth Kregel singled and scored two runs. Colton Hoeger delivered an r-b-i single. For Kee High, Kyle Mauss had their lone hit. CRC improves to 7 and 14, Kee High closes the season at 20-16.

Two Starmont pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Stars picked up a 4-0 win over Ed-Co. Elliot Francois went four innings and allowed just one hit, walked one and struck out six. Jaren Evans finished the final three innings and allowed two hits and struck out six. Jack Thole had two hits, drove in a run and scored. Jax Tommasin tripled in a run and scored. Alex Gelner drove in a run. Cayden Baumgartner and Milton Cushion singled and scored. Wyatt Opitz added a single. For Ed-Co, Colin Everett had two hits and Karter Knipper singled. Catcher Keegan Stelken threw out three base runners. Starmont improves to 22 and 9, Ed-Co closes the season at 3 and 20. Starmont will host Clayton Ridge/Central in a District Semi-Final on July 7th at 7pm. KCTN will broadcast that game on Tuesday night.
