Margo Thresa Heck, 77, of Guttenberg, passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Friday, July 25th, 2025. Born on June 14, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa. Margo was adopted as an infant by Samuel “Sammy” and Hilda “Babe” Myers and lovingly raised in Guttenberg where she graduated high school. Margo married Larry Lee Mann in 1967 and they had 3 children together. Margo was widowed June 3, 1973. She married Vernon Heck on July 5, 1974 they had 2 children together and together they had a blended family of 11 children. She was known for her unwavering faith, candid wisdom, warm spirit, and deep devotion to her family and community. Margo was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a dedicated supporter of St. Mary’s School, contributing to numerous events and initiatives. Her commitment to service extended to her active involvement in the Girl Scouts, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eagles Auxiliary, where she generously gave her time and energy for many years. A passionate genealogist and historian-her greatest joy came from connecting with long-lost family members, and she enthusiastically shared her discoveries, inspiring others to explore their own heritage. Margo had a fondness for Blooming Branches,Carmel Macchiatos and a deep appreciation for dark chocolate caramels. She was proud of her beliefs and never hesitated to speak her mind. Above all, she was immensely proud of all of her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to share their accomplishments. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Vernon Heck; her children Lara Grey, Lisa (Larry)Futrell, Larry Mann, Valerie (Mark)Cromer, Sarah Kirkpatrick, Jeff Heck, Sandy (Shane)Landt, Dianne (Bob)Schaefer, Dave (Jan)Heck, Ginny (Mark) Otto, and Roxie (Michael)Elsbernd; her Sisters Lynda Mugan, Tammy Gamble and brother Michael Gallup, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margo now joins the many loved ones she missed so dearly.
Funeral mass will be held on August 13, 2025 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Guttenberg. Funeral will also be live streamed on the St. Mary's Facebook page.
