Montfort man charged with 6th Offense Operating While Under the Influence, a Wrong-Way Driver arrested for OWI.

OWI 6th Offense 

On 02/12/26, at approximately 10:10 p.m., A Grant County Sheriff's Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Hwy 80 near New California Rd., in Clifton Township, after the vehicle almost struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. 

The Deputy made contact with the driver, Kalvin Riemenapp, 37, of Monfort. Riemenapp showed signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for 6th Offense Operating While Under the Influence. Riemenapp was also cited for Possessing an Open Intoxicant and Failure to Install an Interlock Ignition Device. 

Riemenapp was transported to Grant Regional Health Center and then booked into the Grant County Jail. 


Wrong Way Driver arrested for OWI 

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 6:06 p.m., the Grant County Communications Center received several reports of a wrong way driver on USH 151. Reports indicated a black SUV was traveling Northbound in the Southbound lane at approximately 30mph.  

Other drivers were able to get the vehicle to stop on the median near Mile Marker 2. City of Dubuque Law Enforcement and a Jo Davies County Deputy responded and stood by until Grant County Law Enforcement arrived.  

When a Grant County Sergeant arrived, he learned 74 yr old Michael Ede, of Dubuque, showed signs of impairment. Subsequently, Ede was arrested for OWI 3rd offense and cited for Operating the Wrong Way on Divided Highway.  

Ede was transported to Southwest Health Center and later turned over to a responsible party. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Dubuque Police Department, Jo Davies County Sheriffs Office, several witness, and Biedler Towing out of Dubuque.
