Oelwein Arrest Reports

At 2:20pm on August 16, 2025, Oelwein Police filed multiple charges after conducting a traffic stop on two drivers drag racing in the 800 block of N Frederick Ave.  The first driver, Travis Lee Evans-Bedenbender, 26, of Oelwein, was charged with Drag Racing and Reckless Driving, receiving citations and summons to court for both infractions.  The second driver, Austin Cody Maire, 29, of Oelwein, was charged with Driving While License Suspended, Drag Racing, and Reckless Driving, receiving citations and summons to court for these infractions.  Maire was also issued a citation for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.

On August 15, 2025, Oelwein Officers finished an investigation into a theft compliant from a business in the 10 block of  1st Ave SE. As a result, Nevaeh Jean Louise Jackson, 19, of Oelwein was cited and released on a Promise to Appear. Jackson is charged with two counts of Theft 5th Degree – Simple Misdemeanor and Possession of Alcohol Under the Legal Age – Scheduled Violation.
