Steven A. Elsinger of Guttenberg

Steven A. Elsinger, 53, of Guttenberg, Iowa, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Visitation will be held from 3 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg, Iowa .

Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, prior to funeral services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, Iowa with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Paul Kwaku Ameyaw will officiate.

Steve was born October 15, 1972, in Guttenberg, Iowa, son of Andrew and Marjorie (Blaser) Elsinger. He grew up in rural Guttenberg on the family farm. Steve graduated from Guttenberg High School. He worked for Brian Kann for several years. He enjoyed gaming, golfing, playing darts, and hunting. He spent a lot of time gaming and playing darts with Harlan and other friends.

Survivors include his mother, Marjorie; siblings: Gina Dahlstrom-Osburn, Jody Dahlstrom, Leslie Schmelzer, Lonnie Dahlstrom, Cheryl (Ken) Steadman, Angela (Dave) Spickermann; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and close friend, Harlan Friederick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Elsinger Jr. in 2012; sister, Renee Burns in 2017; paternal grandparents, Andy and Irene Elsinger; maternal grandparents: Adolph and Laura Blaser, and Melvin and Ruth Dahlstrom.
