Two people injured in two-vehicle accident in Fayette County

  On 7/2/2026  at approximately 906 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a call of a two vehicle accident at 160th St. and S Ave. Upon arrival, it was determined that Peter Tweed (75 y/o from Ossian) was traveling west bound on 160th St. and Kerry Richards (54 y/o from Sumner) was traveling north bound on S Ave when their vehicles collided. Both drivers were transported to Sumner hospital for injuries sustained during the accident. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Hawkeye First Responders, Hawkeye Fire Department, and Tieskoetter Collision. The accident remains under investigation.
