Two-Vehicle Accident Leads to Charges in Fayette County
On September 27th, 2026, at approximately 4:30 pm, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 240th St. and Juniper Rd. West Union. Upon Deputies arrival it was learned that Kaylee Colleen Kline, 19 of Elkader was operating her 2018 Ford Expedition when she failed to stop and yield to right of way. Kline collided with a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Paul Philip Wier, 61 of Stoddard WI. Kline was cited for Fail to Obey Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way. Wier was cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Accident. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the West Union Fire Department, Emplify Ambulance, and Iowa Big Rig Service and Repair. This incident remains under investigation.
