Waukon man charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and other charges

Incident Details: In August 2026, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office received a report of a sexual encounter involving a juvenile and an adult male and initiated an investigation.
The investigation determined that during the summer of 2026, Daniel Patrick Liddiard, 54, added a juvenile female as a contact on Snapchat. Over the course of the summer, Liddiard sent sexually explicit photos and videos of himself to the juvenile, requested explicit photos from her. Liddiard also asked the juvenile to introduce him to her minor friends.
During the last week of July 2026, Liddiard met with the juvenile in person at a location in Waukon, Iowa, where he drove around with her, provided her with an adult erotic device, and touched her inappropriately.
Search warrants were executed for Liddiard's electronic devices and their contents as part of the investigation.
Based on the investigation, Daniel Patrick Liddiard was arrested on October 19th and has been charged by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office with:
Sexual Exploitation of a Minor — Class B Felony
Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Possession of a Visual Depiction of a Minor Engaged in a Prohibited Sexual Act — Class D Felony
Grooming — Class D Felony
Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to Minors — Aggravated Misdemeanor
