West Union City Council appoints Interim City Adminstrator/City Clerk

The West Union City Council has appointed Nichlas McIntyre as Interim City Administrator/City Clerk. McIntyre is a former City Administrator in West Union and served in an interim capacity last year. The Council voted unanimously to appoint McIntyre on an Interim basis. He replaces Dexter Wallace after the Council approved a separation agreement with Wallace last week. Wallace was hired in September of last year.

West Union City Council met July 1, 2026, at 6:30 A.M. in Council Chambers with Mayor Kent Halverson presiding. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Attendance Present: Becthold, DeBack, Gumm, McElree, and Tope.

Approval of the Motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Tope,

Approval of Motion to approve Resolution 2027-01 appointing Interim City Administrator/
