Council Chambers, City Hall, August 4, 2025, at 6:00 P.M.
West Union City Council met August 4, 2025, at 6:00 P.M. in Council Chambers with Mayor Cameron Granger presiding. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Attendance Present: Gumm, McElree, Milelr, and Tope. Absent: DeBack.
Approval of the Motion to approve the agenda as presented was made by Tope, seconded by
Agenda Miller. All Aye. Carried.
Approval of Motion to approve the July 21, 2025, Regular Council Meeting minutes as
Minutes presented was made by Miller, seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.
Approval of Liquor Motion to approve liquor license renewal for Lucky Wife Wine Slushies for
License Renewal for Market at White Barns, September 5th and 6th, 2025, was made by Tope,
Lucky Wife Wine seconded by McElree. All Aye. Carried.

Discuss Warning Fire Chief Rory Starks discussed the possibility of grant money now being
Siren Grant available for upgrading the warning sirens for the City. Council agreed that
Starks should move forward with new quotes for the sirens and reapplying for the grant.
Approval of PPE#5 Motion to approve PPE#5 from Baker Enterprises, Inc., totaling $183,339.25 for
From Baker work completed on the Linden Street Improvement Project was made by
Enterprises for Linden McElree, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried.

Consider Approval of After some discussion, motion to table approval of Resolution 2026-05
Resolution 2026-05 Approving Release of Responsibility for Future Road Improvements on Midway
Approving Release for Drive until more information could be obtained was made by Tope, seconded by

Discuss Crack and After some discussion, motion to approve Street Dept to use materials the City
Joint Repairs has on hand and to work with Fayette County Road Dept to use their machinery
was made by McElree, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried.
Approval of Use of Motion to approve use of speed camera funds for approximately $10,000.00 for
Speed Camera Funds the Street Dept to repair the traffic lights at Vine St/Hwy 18 was made by
To Repair Traffic McElree, seconded by Tope. All Aye. Carried. With the outage possibly being
Lights at Vine St/ the result of a lightning strike, the costs will also be turned into insurance. If
Hwy 18 reimbursed, those funds will be returned to the speed camera fund.
Approval of Council Motion to approve changing Council Meeting dates to September 8 and 22 due to
Meeting Dates for the Labor Day holiday was made by Gumm, seconded by Miller. All Aye.
September 2025 Carried.
Update on Open Interim Administrator Nick McIntyre shared that applications are in for the open
Position of City Clerk/ position of City Clerk/Administrator. The hiring committee will review and
Administrator begin scheduling interviews on August 11th.
Comments and Mallory Hanson of Fayette Economic Development and Tourism will begin
Discussion making plans for a ribbon cutting/grand opening for the Gateway to Recreation
Trail.
Next Council Next regular council meeting will be August 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in
Meeting Council Chambers.
Adjourn With no further business to bring before the Council, a motion was made by
Gumm, seconded by Miller, to adjourn. All Aye. Carried.
