William Edward "Bill" Letts of Manchester

William Edward “Bill” Letts, 88, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at his home in Manchester. He was born on February 26, 1938, in Manchester, the son of Edward and Chrissie (Hines) Letts. Bill was raised and educated in Manchester and was a 1956 graduate of Manchester High School.

On July 26, 1957, Bill was united in marriage to Sherry Rimmer in Elkader. Three children were born to this union.

Bill worked at the Exide Battery Factory for many years.

Bill was a hunting and fishing enthusiast. He also enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Bill was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers, and New York Yankees fan, but enjoyed watching all sports.

Survivors include two children, Candi (Arleen McKnight) Letts of Riverside, California, and Terri Letts of Manchester; stepdaughter, Regina Topping; one grandson, Rion Letts; two step grandchildren, Mason and Chance; two great-grandsons, Evan Letts and Isaac Letts; three sisters-in-law, Jackie Letts, Janet Letts, and Ruth Letts; two nephews, Mike (Marge) Letts and Morris (Sherry) Letts; three nieces, Michelle (Tom Amthauer) Letts, Barb (Rick) Robinson, and Kim Wilson; as well as other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sherry Letts; a son, Randi Letts; and his brothers, Clyde, Don, Butch, and Milo (Leona) Letts.
