Barry Charles Kennedy, 71, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, Iowa. Barry was born on July 7, 1955, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Charles Kennedy and Lorraine (Reiss) Kennedy. He grew up in Delaware County and graduated from West Delaware High School with the Class of 1974.

Following graduation, Barry began his career at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. He later spent many years driving a milk truck for Steger Trucking, a job he greatly enjoyed. After diabetes brought his trucking career to an end, he joined Theisens in Dyersville, where he continued working until his retirement.

Barry was a devoted son, grandson, and brother. He spent many years caring for his grandmother, Lorena, his mother, Lorraine, and his brother, Victor "Vic" Kennedy. His quiet dedication and willingness to put family first reflected the kindness and loyalty that were hallmarks of his character.

Barry spent his winters snowmobiling. He also had a lifelong passion for automobiles and racing. He took great pride in his meticulously restored 1971 blue Chevrolet Chevelle, which was a frequent source of conversation and admiration among family and friends. He enjoyed attending racing events throughout the Midwest and following the racing community. Barry was also devoted to his beloved Dachshunds, Lucy, Knucklehead, and Spinner, who brought him years of companionship and joy.

Those left to cherish Barry's memory include his brother, Kevin Kennedy of Warsaw, Missouri; nephews Kelly Graybill, Chris Graybill, Tim Kennedy, Brad Kennedy, and Scott Kennedy; along with many extended family members and friends.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Kennedy and Lorraine Kennedy; his sister, Connie Curran; and his brothers, John Kennedy and Victor "Vic" Kennedy.
