Katherine Joanne (McInteer) Riniker of Strawberry Point

Katherine Joanne (McInteer) Riniker, 68, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at her home. She was born on October 8, 1957, in Independence, the daughter of Timothy and Joanne (Harland) McInteer.

On April 21, 1979, Kathy was united in marriage to Chris Riniker. Their union was blessed with five children whom they raised on their farm outside of Strawberry Point. Kathy’s faith was the center of her life, and she found joy and purpose in her relationship with God and her St. Mary’s (Emmaus Pastorate) Parish Community. Kathy lived out that devotion through how she cared for those around her.

Kathy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is deeply missed by her husband of 47 years, Chris Riniker of Strawberry Point; her children, Marie Riniker of Aurora, April (Glenn) Schaffer of Edgewood, Crystal (Steve) Schreiber of Marion, Joanna Horstman of Calmar, and Adam (Nichole) Riniker of Strawberry Point; 17 grandchildren, Alyssa, Kassandra, Jasmyne; Quintin, Leila, Kristy, Timothy, Blake; Jacob, Evelyn, Benjamin; Martin, Matthew; Kendra, Ellie, Chloe, and Logan; one great-grandchild, Haven; and siblings, Mike McInteer of Mesa, Arizona and Teresa (Bob) Schremser of Independence.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David McInteer; and three grandchildren, Aiden Schaffer; and prenatal twins.

Kathy’s strong faith lives on in the love she instilled in her family. May she rest in eternal peace.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 12, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa, with Rev. John Haugen presiding.

Visitation: 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Friends may also call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church on Monday.

Inurnment: Mederville Cemetery, Mederville, Iowa
