Kenneth Walter Faust of Strawberry Point

Kenneth Walter Faust, 88, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at his home. He was born on January 12, 1938, in Iowa City, the son of Walter and Vernita (Opperman) Faust. Kenneth graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1958. He joined the United States Air Force on February 24, 1959, and was honorably discharged on February 23, 1965.

On May 24, 1959, he was united in marriage to Faye Scott at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point. Two sons were born to this union. Kenneth did carpenter work and was a line man for Strawberry Point. In 1964, Kenneth began farming full-time.

Kenneth enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He was a steel guitar player and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Faye Faust of Strawberry Point; two sons, Robert (Kelly) Faust and Michael (Carolyn) Faust both of Strawberry Point; seven grandchildren, David, Tracey, Tiffany, Lisa, Dustin, Christina, Janelle; 12 great grandchildren; his four sisters, Carolyn (Steven) Straus of Manchester, Mary Hilby of Manchester, Marilyn Voshell of Strawberry Point, and Janice (Wayne) Larson of Fayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sister in infancy, Dorothy Faust; sister, Lillian Satterlee; brother, Edward Faust; and brothers-in-law, Don Hilby and Ira Voshell.
