Central School Board

The Central School Board pulled the agenda item to possibly rescind a recent contract extension for Superintendent Nick Trenkamp. Originally on the May 6th Agenda was the item to rescind action taken on February 17th to extend the Superintendent contract for another year. The Board removed the item from the Tuesday agenda. Trenkamp was placed on administrative leave on March 30th in connection with comments he made on social media.

The Board also accepted the resignation of Nancy Healy as Business and Technology Teacher. They accepted the resignation of Laurie Hayzlett as Tag Instructor, a position that is shared with Kee High.

Consent Items 

Josh Embretson made a motion to approve removing item number seven from the agenda. Media reports that the Central Community School District will be taking action during tonight’s meeting to rescind Superintendent Nick Trenkamp’s contract extension and that Mr. Trenkamp will be done as of June 30, 2025 are not accurate. In order to avoid any further confusion regarding this matter, the Central Community School District Board of Directors will be amending tonight’s agenda to remove this item from the agenda. Jered Finley seconded. Motion carried. 7-0 

Courtney Scherf made a motion to approve the bills. 

Marcus Belser seconded. Motion carried. 7-0 

Health Insurance 

Marcus Belser made a motion to approve removing the Classic 100 Health Insurance plan and adding the HD5000 plan.

Resignations 

Josh Embretson made a motion to approve the resignation of Nancy Healy and Laurie Hayzlett. 

Jered Finley seconded. Motion carried. 7-0 

Exempt Session 

Courtney Scherf made a motion to go into an exempt session for bargaining. Marcus Belser seconded. Motion carried. 7-0 

The board went into to exempt session at 4:03 PM.

Marcus Belser seconded. Motion carried. 7-0 

The board returned to open session at 5:07 PM.
