The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office honors the life and service of retired K-9 Raven, who passed away, today, January 26, 2026.
Raven was born on February 20, 2013, and began her career with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office in May of 2014. She proudly served as a dual-purpose K-9, dedicating her career to protecting and serving the citizens of Clayton County.
During her service, Raven completed more than 200 deployments and was instrumental in over 100 arrests. She was also a familiar and beloved presence at numerous demonstrations for Clayton County community organizations and schools, helping build trust and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Raven earned several awards throughout her career, including 1st Place Team at the USPCA Detector Trials in 2018, 1st Place Vehicle Search at the USPCA Detector Trials in 2021, and “Sniff-Off Champion” at the Iowa Dogs for Law Enforcement Seminar in 2019.
Raven retired in April of 2022 and spent her retirement with her handler, Matt Moser, and his family. Her days were filled with barking at K-9 Rexo and enjoying time on the couch, surrounded by those who loved her.
Raven will be deeply missed by her family, former coworkers, and the Clayton County community she served so faithfully. Her dedication, loyalty, and service will never be forgotten.
