Clayton Ridge School Board proves two early retirement agreements

The Clayton Ridge School Board approved the early retirements of Laurie Smith as Special Education Teacher and Cheri Behrend as Middle School Language Arts Teacher.

The Board approved the hiring of Brandon Bries as Assistant Baseball Coach and Antwan Allen as Junior High Basketball Coach.

Heather Crary resigned as Assistant Softball Coach.

1. Approved the following hires, resignations, and early retirements:

2. Approved requests for modified supplemental funds:

• Request $51,211 for open enrolled out students who were not included in the District's previous year certified enrollment count.

• Request $1,688 related to the English learning program for students who have exceeded 5 years of weighting that are included on the Fall 2025 certified enrollment headcount.

3. Denied 6 applications to the Iowa Virtual Academy due to IEP requirements.

4. A second reading was held of the following policies:  800, 801.01, 801.02, 801.03, 801.04, 802.01, 802.02, 802.03, 802.04, 802.04-R(1), 802.04-R(2), 802.05, 802.06, 802.07, 803.01, 803.02, 804.01, 804.02, 804.04, 804.05, 804.05E1, 804.06, 804.06R1, 804.07, 804.07-R(1), 900, 901, 902.01, 902.02, 902.03, 902.04, 903.01, 903.02, 903.03, 903.04, 903.05, 903.05-R(1), 904.01, 904.02, 905.01, 905.01-R(1), 905.01-R(2), 905.1E1, 905.1E2, 905.02, 905.03, 905.04, 906, 907, 907-R(1). All policies were approved as listed.

5. A first reading was held of the following policies:  100, 101, 102, 102.R1, 102.E1, 102.E2, 102.E3, 102.E4, 102.E5, 102.E6, 103, 103.R1, 104, 104.E1, 104.E2, 104.E3, 104.R1, 105, 105.1, 105.1E1, 105.1E2, 106.

6. Approved a contract lane change for Bridget Schaufenbuel to move from BA +10 to BA +20.

7. A public hearing was set for January 8, 2026 at 5:30PM to transfer $416,540.41. of categorical funds to the flexibility fund.
