On Sunday, July 27th, 2025, Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit (Diego) initiated a traffic stop in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The driver of the vehicle was identified as David Coulter (52) of Owatonna, Minnesota, and his passengers were identified as Cari Brink (50) of Waukon, Iowa, and Tod Frieden (55) of Waukon, Iowa. Initially, Frieden provided a false name to law enforcement as he had a felony warrant for his arrest, and he was discovered to have methamphetamine on his person. A search of the vehicle was conducted that resulted in the discovery of more methamphetamine, unprescribed pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Frieden, Coulter, and Brink were arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Frieden faces an additional charge of obstructing a law enforcement officer. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Prairie du Chien Police Department and Milo’s Towing Service. All individual(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
