Dennis Wayne Wilson of Delhi

Dennis Wayne Wilson, 61, of Delhi, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his home in Delhi. He was born on April 16, 1964, in Manchester, the son of Wayne and Janet Anne (Hagensick) Wilson. Dennis was a 1982 graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School. He then completed an IBEW apprenticeship for electrician training.

On June 27, 1992, Dennis was united in marriage to Cheryl Peterson at the Delhi Methodist Church in Delhi. Two sons were born to this union. Dennis worked as an electrician for 18 years. He then owned and operated Deters Trucking, LLC, in Delhi until the time of his death.

Dennis served proudly for 25 years on the Delhi EMS and Fire Department. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and simply being outdoors. He also enjoyed watching football and NASCAR racing and reading old Western stories. Above all, Dennis loved his family and spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 34 years, Cheryl Wilson of Delhi; his two sons, Wade (Laura) Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Wyatt Wilson of Delhi; one granddaughter, Eloise and another granddaughter on the way; his sister, Joanne (Jeff) Utter of Manchester; in-laws Gordon Peterson, David Peterson, Scott (Penny) Peterson, Gary (Susan) Peterson, Wendy (Kevin) Peterson, and Brenda (Jeff) Pfister; and a loving extended family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Janet Wilson; and in-laws Warren and Eileen Peterson.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Delhi Methodist Church in Delhi, Iowa, with Reverend Zach Rogers officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Delhi Methodist Church in Delhi, Iowa. Friends may also call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Interment with Fireman’s Final Call: Immediately following the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi, Iowa
