Elkader City Council Approves Request to Relocate the Veterans Memorial

The Elkader City Council held discussion with the Lemka-Stendel American Legion Post 106 on the relocation of the Veterans Memorial. The plan is to move the Veterans Memorial from the City Park to the Triangle Park near Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. A fundraising effort will take place to help pay for the move.

The Council approved the sale of two lots in the Breezy Summit Subdivision for two-thousand dollars each, an individual is looking at building a house on each lot.

The Council also amended the penalties for non-payment of utility bills. The penalty will be 10-percent of the bill.
