Fayette Co. Releases

On July 19, 2026, at approximately 6:18 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call regarding a truck on fire in the 16000 block of Derby Road, Wadena, IA. The Wadena Fire Department extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported. It was determined that the gray 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 caught fire while hauling hay bales. The pickup was considered a total loss.


On July 18, 2026, a Fayette County Deputy arrested 51-year-old Mark Opperman on a Fayette County warrant for Criminal Mischief in the 5th degree. Opperman was held and later released after posting $1,000 bond.


On July 17, 2026, at approximately 9:13 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old Katie Elaine Jasper of Fairbank on an active Fayette County warrant for Accessory After the Fact. Jasper was transported to the Fayette County Jail where she was held on a $2,000 cash/surety bond. She was released after posting bond.
