Fayette County Authorities arrest Waterloo man on warrants and charges filed against a Randalia man after traffic stop

On December 15, 2025, a Fayette County Deputy arrested 43-year-old William Wayne Farrell of Waterloo for two Fayette County Warrants. They were for Driving While License suspended and Failure to Maintain Control. He was transported to the Fayette County Jail and held on a $600 bond.
On December 12th, 2025, at approximately 7:25pm a Fayette County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on 150th St. near the intersection of Lantern Rd. Fayette. During the traffic stop it was learned that the driver Rex Allen Sherman age 65 of Randalia was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence. Sherman was transported to the Fayette County Jail where awaited his initial appearance and was later released. Sherman is being charged with Operating While under the Influence 1st Offense and cited for Lights of Improper Color - Front or Rear. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Fayette Police Department. This incident remains under investigation.
