Fayette County Incidents

On July 23^rd, 2025, at approximately 4:06 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 230^th St. (HWY-18) and W avenue. After further investigation it was learned that Michael Busch 66 of Waucoma was traveling south bound in a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban when he entered the intersection colliding with a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant driven by Erica Schmitt 40 of Tripoli. Minor injuries were reported. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Hawkeye Fire and First Responders, Gundersen ambulance, and Tieskoetter Collison Center. This incident remains under investigation.

On July 23^rd, 2025, at approximately 8:00pm a Fayette County Deputy arrested Zachary Scott Willie age 32 of Cresco for Violation of Parole. Willie was transported to the Fayette County Jail and is being held on a NO BOND hold.
