Fayette County Releases

On July 21, 2025, at 4:15PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office was called to Hwy. 150 on the Eldorado Hill to do traffic control for a grain wagon that had lost its wheel.  Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol to direct traffic around the tractor and wagon until the owner could empty the corn from the wagon and clear it from the highway. On July 21, 2025, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrested 37-year-old Robie Eugene Shindelar of Decorah on a Fayette County Warrant.  Shindelar had a mittimus warrant for failure to serve 28 days in jail. He was transferred from the Winneshiek County Jail and brought to the Fayette County Jail where he will serve his sentence.  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
