Fayette County Reports on Three Incidents

On July 24, 2026 a Fayette County Sheriff's Deputy arrested 19 year old Brodie Herriage of West Union on an outstanding warrant for False Report of Indictable Offense to Public Entity.  Herrige was transported to the Fayette County Jail and held on $1000 bond while awaiting appearance before a magistrate.

On 07/23/2026 at 5:38  AM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a car vs deer accident on Harding Road just outside the city limits of Clermont. It was learned 43 year old Matthew Brainard was west bound in a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado when a deer entered the roadway.  Brainard struck the deer and the vehicle was considered a total loss.  No injuries were reported.

On July 23^rd, 2026, at approximately 5:08 PM, Matthew Lee Goldsmith (age 43) of Oelwein was taken into custody by a Fayette County Deputy on a warrant for Failure to Appear original charge Violation of compulsory Edu mediation agreement 1ST offense . Matthew was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he was held on a $300 cash only bond. Matthew was released after posting bond.
