Garage and Three Vehicles lost in fire in Elkader

A two-stall garage and three vehicles were all destroyed in a fire Friday afternoon in Elkader. The Elkader Fire Department, Elkader Police and Clayton County Sheriffs Department were called to the Marsha Ahrens residence in the southwest part of Elkader. The cause of the fire is electrical. The garage housed two Dodge Rams and a Dodge Caravan that were lost in the blaze. A small shed nearby was also lost. Ahrens and her son were home at the time, no injuries reported and the house was not damaged.
