The Guttenberg City Council held discussion on two ordinance issues concerning residential housing. The Council approved an ordinance that adds zoning to the C-1 District that involves adding residential. They held the first reading of an ordinance in regards to residential on the ground floor in the C-2 District. That would involve having up to 70-percent of an area being a residential unit. The Council will hold a second and third reading of that ordinance.

The Council approved keeping the Marina rates the same. The cost for slip will stay at $980 for 30-feet, $1,030 for 32-feet, and $1,705 for 40-feet. Transient rates will remain the same at $1.50 per foot.

The Council approved furniture for the Police Department for up to 10-thousand dollars. The Department will use funds from Ragbrai to pay for the furniture.

Colin Krapfl and Madison Goedken were approved as Volunteer Firefighters pending Department approval.
